Julia has her degree in communication disorders and has worked as a speech and language therapy assistant at an intensive private school for learning and language-challenged individuals. She has four years of experience as an independent tutor with an emphasis in literacy, phonological processing, executive functioning support, and organization. She is trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing program and is familiar with the Orton Gillingham (OG) reading approach and Singapore Math program. Tutor
Rebekah Tozier
Rebekah graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Utah, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics. Following graduation, she spent five years planning and providing language treatment to students with language disorders and learning disabilities. Treatments focused on literacy, English, reading comprehension, math, and organizational skills. During this period, she had the pleasure of gaining a multidisciplinary approach, working under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists, a Neuropsychologist, and a Pediatric Neurologist. She is trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing (LiPS) program as well as the Visual Kinetic Sentence Structure (VKKS) grammar program. Rebekah is passionate about providing learning opportunities that are unique to an individual student and promoting the student’s self-image as a “learner”. Throughout her studies, she has learned numerous languages including Russian, Persian, and Japanese.
In her free time, Rebekah enjoys going hiking and is a talented artist in both painting and drawing.
Tutor
Casey Bogusz
Casey graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a BA in Holistic Psychology, specializing in Expressive Arts Therapy. She worked within the field of psychology until in the fall of 2018, when she moved to Colorado. Wanting to expand her skills, Casey accepted a position at a special education school as a language therapist. She worked with students with language disorders, dyslexia, and reading difficulties and was trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing program. She learned to apply her knowledge in psychology to facilitate natural and holistic learning. She has a passion for teaching students how to learn independently while giving them the support and guidance they need to succeed until independence is achievable. Her goal with all students is to help them to see themselves as learners and able to achieve their learning goals.
During her free time, Casey enjoys knitting, reading, playing board games, and snowboarding in the winter.
TESTIMONIALS
What Our Students Say
My unique daughter and I are fortunate; we have worked with Julia Nofsinger of Intuitive Learning for two years. Julia’s education, experience, adaptability, interpersonal skills, openness and humility combine to meet the individualized needs of her students. Julia engages my daughter in tasks that challenge and enhances learning with instructional activities thoughtful in content, process and product. Just shy of age fifteen, after years of tedious. repetitive, unsuccessful teachings to read, my daughter’s desire to read was still immense. With Julia’s intuitive guidance, she is building skills and achieving her goal.
